• 1) Height
  • Try to install your flood lights above 3 metres so they can be angled down as much as possible.
  • The higher and wider the area, the brighter the light is needed and the higher the light will need to be installed
  • 2) Angle
  • High mounting results in a narrow beam light that won’t blind people as they walk under or passed the light.
  • Try to achieve a wide angle that will brighten up more area.

  • 3) Position
  • Try not to position flood lights where you are aiming to walk, such as above doorways, pathways or garages, as they will blind you as you walk towards the light.
  • Position flood lights art a 90-degree angle to any pathway or place where people may be walking.

  • 4) Finishes and Weatherproof
  • Use stainless steel finishes if you live along the coast.
  • Use IP 56 or higher if it is suitable to be mounted outside.
