Solar Maintenance

Solar Maintenance

Regular care keeps your solar panels clean and free from dirt or environmental debris that block sunlight absorption. Maintaining your solar panels is crucial because any obstruction reduces the sunlight they capture, which directly lowers the electricity generated for your home. Solar panel maintenance mainly involves two key methods: performance monitoring and panel cleaning

MONITORING PERFORMANCE

A monitoring system lets you actively track your solar panels’ performance. It alerts you when maintenance is needed, so you can address issues promptly. This system provides real-time data, allowing you to check your solar panels anytime and anywhere. Since your system’s electricity output depends directly on panel performance, monitoring helps minimize problems and ensures optimal energy production.

SOLAR PANEL CLEANING

Cleaning your solar panels is essential to maintain efficiency. Follow these steps for effective cleaning:

  1. Use a solar panel cleaning kit, which typically includes soap, a brush, a wiper, and a long-handled brush—much like washing a car.
  2. Mix the correct amount of liquid soap with water in a container.
  3. Gently scrub the panel surface using the soapy water and brush. Use the handheld brush for smaller panels and the long-handled brush for larger ones.
  4. While the surface is still wet, use a wiper to remove soap and dirt thoroughly.

CAUTION

Don’t wash when the panels are hot to avoid the risk of solar panel crack and damage the panels.
